Huawei Mate XT tri-fold leaked in hands-on image

Huawei's long-rumored tri-fold smartphone will officially launch in China on September 10 and will be called the Mate XT. A newly released image claims to show us a hands-on view of one of the device's sides, but take it with a grain of salt. gigantic A pinch of salt, because even the Chinese source of the image is not sure of its authenticity.

It’s hard to say how real this is since the Mate XT will be the very first tri-fold smartphone we’ll ever see. Maybe it’ll look like that from the side, maybe not. Either way, we’ll get official images in exactly a week, so there’s not much more to wait for.

This Mate XT (if that's what it is) is supposed to be a technical prototype, sporting 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Of course, Huawei could also offer other RAM/storage combinations at launch. The phone has reportedly been listed on a second-hand marketplace in China for a whopping CNY16,888, which currently translates to $2,371 or €2,147.

Since this is a one-of-a-kind device, you definitely shouldn't expect it to be cheap.
