Huawei held an event in China today, where it showcased TrueSense, a revolutionary system that aims to set a new standard in health monitoring.
This technology combines data from respiratory rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen level), body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate sensors, which are not new to a Huawei wearable. However, the company claims that they are more accurate, more comprehensive and better used across the company's ecosystem.
The official presenters on stage didn't specify which devices will be the first to launch with TruSense, but we've heard that a Watch D2 is coming next month, so the blood pressure-centric phone could be the pioneer of the tech. A teaser for the Watch GT 5 surfaced today, so it's most likely another one.
Rico Zhang, President of Huawei Smart Wearable and Health Product Line, said that this health breakthrough will inspire users to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The new Health Glance feature will allow consumers to measure more than 10 health indicators in just 60 seconds.
This includes the well-known heart rate or ECG, but also more obscure measures like lung function and infection risk, sleep apnea and risk of high blood sugar.
