Forza Horizon 5 is going strong, with new content updates and new reward vehicles being introduced more often than not. This time around, we have four heavy hitters on our hands, in the form of the 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR, the 2022 Subaru WRX, the 1991 Toyota Chaser GT Twin Turbo, and the coveted 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar. Now, let’s look at how you can unlock them and how quickly you need to act. The “offer” is limited, so you might want to keep an eye on the calendar.
If you earn 20 points during the first week of the “Sumer” season in the Hidden Horizons Festival playlist between September 12 and 19, your reward will be the 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR.
This All-wheel drive baby is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and can reach 62 mph or 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.1 seconds, which is saying something for a '95 car. It's no wonder it won second place in the manufacturers' championship in 1995 and 1996 and first place in the WRC drivers' championship.
To unlock the 2022 Subaru WRX, you need to earn 20 points during Week 2 “Fall” between September 19 and September 26. The WRX comes with a 2.4-liter engine that's capable of generating 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. While it shines best when equipped with off-road gear, it's no slouch either, capable of reaching 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 5.7 seconds.
The next lesser-known “oddity” is the 1991 Toyota Chaser GT Twin Turbo, which you can unlock by earning 20 points during the third week, “Winter,” from September 26 to October 3.
This mythical creature is caging the legendary 2.5-liter 6-cylinder 1JZ-GTE engine, which generates 276 hp and 268 lb-ft or 363 Nm of torque. However, with a little tuning and tweaking here and there, it can go well beyond those power output figures.
The final item on the shopping list is the elusive 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar. Although this species has been extinct for quite some time, you can still collect one by scoring 20 points during Week 4, “Spring,” between October 3 and 10.
Only 250 Polestar-tuned models ever hit American soil, making this one a true rarity. It may have been eleven years ago, but the car still looks great and is powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower.
But that’s not all that awaits players in FH5, with more to earn and unlock all month long. Remember to visit the gift tab in your Message Center to claim your free 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Jordan Luka 3 Motorsport Edition.
The new Hide & Seek mode is in full force, with each team only able to choose from a handful of pre-determined models. Hiders can choose from four vehicles, including the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, and 2018 Mercedes X-Class.
Seekers have more cars at their disposal: the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG2015 Audi RS6, 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR, 2021 Ford Bronco, 2017 Nissan GT-R (R35), 2016 Ariel Nomad, 2004 SUBARU Impreza WRX STi, and 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16.
Forza Horizon 5 is thriving on Steam, with over 16.4k concurrent players in the last 24 hours. At the other end of the spectrum, Forza Motorsport is barely hitting 560 players per day. However, Horizon’s sibling may be on the verge of a complete 180, as the developers recently revealed their plans and revisions for the coming months. Only time will tell if Microsoft should call it quits on Motorsport.
