We welcomed the vanilla Google Pixel 9 and the flagship Pixel 9 Pro XL at the end of August, now the focus turns to the smaller Pro and Google's next-gen foldable.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold switches to a more traditional 20:9 aspect ratio for the cover display, compared to 17.4:9 for the original Pixel Fold. Additionally, the internal display gets a significant boost with the new 8-inch diagonal. There's also the more efficient Tensor G4 chipset, but that pretty much covers the major upgrades this year.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro isn't here yet, it's launching on September 16 (Monday). While it's not the smallest flagship on the market (the Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15 Pro are both smaller), it does stand out with its 48MP 113mm periscope and 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, as well as a 42MP ultra-wide-angle selfie camera.

free storage upgrade
£200 extra credit on exchange
Note that the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro Fold come with a free storage upgrade. Additionally, Amazon is offering extra credit as a bonus when trading in an old device.
This also applies to the Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro XL, both of which get a free storage upgrade and a trade-in bonus.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 will go on sale starting Tuesday. This generation comes in a 41mm size like the first two, but you can now opt for a larger 45mm model as well. In addition to the increase in screen size from 1.2″ to 1.4″, you also get a larger 420mAh battery (up from 307mAh).
Samsung launched a new category of watches this year, the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It is water-resistant up to 100m and has a built-in ECG sensor. The 1.5″ screen can reach 3,000 nits and the 590mAh battery offers great endurance.
There's no Classic model this year, but there is the Galaxy Watch7. It comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes (1.3″ and 1.5″ screens, respectively) and also has an ECG sensor. Both this watch and the Ultra can also monitor your blood pressure and skin temperature. While it's not as rugged, it's still certified for 50m of water resistance, which should be enough for most people.
If you want something affordable, the Galaxy Watch FE has many of the same features: it's rated for 50m battery life, ECG and blood pressure monitoring, and even has sapphire glass. Note that Prime Student members can get an extra discount on the watches.
Finally, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are worth mentioning: the new Tensor A1 chipset promises twice the noise reduction of the original Pros. However, they won't launch until the end of the month, so we'll have to review them.
