Honor Watch 5 debuts with bigger, brighter display and 15-day battery life

Alongside the global launch of its foldable Magic V3 watch, Honor has announced a new smartwatch: the Honor Watch 5. The successor to last year's Honor Watch 4, it features a larger, brighter display, improved battery life, and more accurate health tracking.

The Honor Watch 5 is built around a 1.85-inch square AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 x 390 px and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The smartwatch sports a Series 6 aluminum frame that includes a rotary knob for easier controls, as well as a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls.

The Watch 5 is IP68 certified and 5 ATM waterproof, so you can take it swimming. It can track the usual combination of sports activities and has built-in GPS positioning.

It connects via Bluetooth 5.2 and has 4GB of built-in storage for storing music playlists. The software side is covered by Honor's MagicOS 8.

New this year are Honor's Scientific Sleep Management, Healthy Morning Report, and Quick Health Scan, which help you monitor your health.

The Watch 5's 480mAh silicon-carbon battery offers a 21% increase in energy density over the Honor Watch 4's battery. Paired with Honor OS Turbo X's system-level power consumption optimizer, Honor claims you can get up to 15 days of battery life from the Watch 5 with regular use.
