HMD Global has launched its latest feature-packed device: the HMD Barbie Phone. It’s a flip phone without any social media apps. However, it’s special because it’s made in collaboration with Mattel. As we mentioned earlier, the phone has been released in various regions. However, it has been discovered that the HMD Barbie Phone in the US will have different internals for a better experience. Let’s take a look at the differences between the US-exclusive and global versions below.
HMD Barbie Phone: US-specific and global version differences
At first glance, both versions look similar, but there are notable differences under the hood. Thanks to a report from HMD News, we now have a clear picture of the differences between the Barbie Phone versions. Based on the Nokia 2660 Flip, the Global version features a Unisoc T107 processor. It also has 128MB of storage and 64MB of RAM. There’s a 0.3MP rear camera. It also adds a USB Type-C port and comes with a Barbie-themed user interface, making it a charming and nostalgic device for fans.

This version also features additional connectivity options like WiFi and GPS/AGPS, the Barbie-themed KaiOS 3.1 interface, and a handy strap holder on the flip bar.
In terms of availability, the Global version will retail for £99 in the UK and €129 in Europe, while the US version will retail for $129, with pre-orders starting in late September. Each version comes with fun Barbie-themed accessories, but only the US version includes a charger.
