Samsung's upcoming bigger, thinner, book-style foldable smartphone has been getting a lot of buzz lately, and now we have the first leaked image allegedly showing the special edition Galaxy Z Fold.
As you can see, the design is overall very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold6, which is understandable. That said, the fact that it is thinner is immediately noticeable.
As you can see, the Fold Special Edition will have a flat frame with slightly rounded corners. The camera island is a bit different from the Fold6, so it will help distinguish the two devices from afar. It looks thicker than the Fold6, but keep in mind that the Fold Special Edition itself is thinner, which could be the reason.
While the back of the device has a brushed metal look, it's likely still glass, just finished to look that way. The power button will also double as a fingerprint sensor, unsurprisingly, and the volume rocker sits above it on the right side, as is tradition for Samsung devices.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be 4.9mm thick when unfolded and 10.6mm when folded. It will feature a 200MP main camera, a 6.5-inch cover display, and an 8-inch inner foldable display. Unfortunately, it is only expected to launch in China and South Korea.
