The Tesla Cybertruck is a Halo vehicle in more ways than Elon Musk probably imagined. Inspired by the Halo Warthog, as Musk admitted in November 2019, it was only a matter of time before it returned to its roots as a true Halo Warthog.

Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019 with a stainless steel body that left many people puzzled. Sure, everyone remembered the equally shiny DMC DeLorean from the movie Back to the Future, but few imagined that Tesla would bring it into the modern era. The Cybertruck's choice of body materials was often criticized by people who noted that the stainless steel body panels stained, sometimes leaving the impression that “rust.”

However, few left their Cybertruck as Tesla intended, and a wrapping race began, led by Tesla itself. In fact, since the first prototypes began to be tested, camouflage wraps have become popular. It seems that the Cybertruck was a great wrapping material, as demonstrated by the famous wrap of the Ford F-150. Today, it is difficult to see two Cybertrucks alike, as most owners are creative in choosing their favorite wrap.

One of the more interesting wraps we saw earlier this year was a Warthog wrap, which makes the Cybertruck look like the armored fighting vehicle from the Halo video game franchise. It makes sense, considering that many Tesla fans consider the Cybertruck to be the perfect vehicle for the apocalypse. However, having your Cybertruck wrapped as a Halo Warthog is not the same as having a real-life Halo Warthog.

YouTuber Brandon Herrera, who describes himself as a “second absolutist amendment”, bridged the gap between the two and installed a .50 caliber turret in the bed of a Warthog-clad Cybertruck. As expected, Herrera gave a live demonstration of his capabilities and didn't forget to tell everyone that the turret can be purchased as is from his sponsor, Tactical Electric vehicleNot only that, the company also sells a dedicated rack to install in the trunk of the Cybertruck.

Herrera’s video comes less than two weeks after Chechen Republic leader Ramzan Kadyrov showed off his Cybertruck equipped with a heavy machine gun. Kadyrov claimed the truck was a gift from Elon Musk, though the Tesla CEO has denied this. We don’t know how Kadyrov’s video influenced Herrera’s decision to create a Halo Warthog or at least attach an M2 Browning heavy machine gun to its cargo bed.

While the Tesla Cybertruck looks like a tough doomsday vehicle, and some Tesla fans genuinely believe it is, the electric pickup has proven to be quite fragile. A Cybertruck recently caught fire after driving over a fire hydrant, an ironic development. Another Cybertruck burned to a crisp earlier this month after its driver lost control and hit a concrete duct in the Baytown Area. This shows that the Cybertruck probably isn’t very good in a hostile environment, even if its door panels could take a few bullets.
