Google's big change to the Play Store saves you a lot of time updating your apps

In April, we told you that Google had made a small improvement to the Google Play Store that allowed the app store to install up to two new apps at once. For example, let's say you see an app you want to install on your Android phone. So you start installing it on your device. While you're doing that, you see another app you want to download. Previously, you had to wait for the first app to finish installing before the phone started installing the second app.

However, that changed in April, which, believe it or not, was five months ago! Now, when you see the second app you want, you can click “Install” and the installation process will start without delay.

Google is now taking this feature a step further. Have you ever opened the Play Store, tapped the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen, hit “Manage apps and device,” clicked “Updates,” and realized you have over 70 apps that need updating? This process used to take longer than it does now, potentially hours, because your phone only updated one app at a time.

Now Google has made a big change to the number of apps and games that can be updated at the same time. Up to three apps or games will be updated at once. This may not seem like a big deal to you. But if you've started updating your installed apps and you notice that among the 70+ apps in your queue there's an app you wanted to use right away, you'll be pleased at how much faster the update completes and you regain access to that one app.

Whether you install two apps from the Google Play Store that you happen to like within seconds or update three apps or games at once, Google saves you time and lots of it. Seeing up to three apps and games updated at once is certainly a sight to behold. Watch how your phone handles it one day when you have at least 20 or more apps that need updating. You'll be amazed at how quickly your list updates, especially when you remember how long it used to take to update your existing apps.
