The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has been torn down by iFixit. The video below reveals the phone's dual-entry design that allows you to perform repairs from both the display side and the back of the phone.
This means that a cracked screen will be easier to remove than devices with a rear-only entry point, although as iFixit host demonstrates, you'll still need to be extra careful with the new Pixel because its display layers are prone to separating, automatically killing the panel.
If you need to replace the battery or any other internal components, you can do the repair from the back. The main downside of the Pixel 9 Pro XL is that the battery is held in place by sliding tabs that make the removal process a real pain. The difficult-to-remove battery and fragile screen give the Pixel 9 Pro XL a provisional repairability score of 5/10.
