While the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold isn't shipping yet, one lucky person has already gotten their hands on an Obsidian-colored unit and happily unboxed it on Reddit for the world to see.

The fold right out of the box seems significantly improved over the original Pixel Fold, while still being very present. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also comes unfolded inside the box, unlike its predecessor which was folded.
On that note, the same Reddit user also posted a full photoshoot comparing Google's new foldable smartphone to Google's old foldable smartphone, side by side, next to each other. The different aspect ratio of the new device is very evident, as is its larger size.

This change also makes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold look more like a generic foldable phone, and less unique than its predecessor. But it should have a positive side, as apps will have fewer issues on the foldable screen.
