Foxconn hires 50,000 more workers in China to ramp up iPhone 16 production

Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 16 lineup in September and has reportedly set a target of shipping 90 million iPhone 16 units. To meet this goal, Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn has hired 50,000 new workers at its Zhengzhou plant in China, the daily reported. BusinessKorea.

The peak iPhone production season usually starts in August and ends in December, and in an effort to speed up iPhone 16 production by hiring new workers, Foxconn began offering increased hourly wages of up to 25 yuan (about 4,800 won) in late July.

The Taiwanese manufacturer also increased the hiring bonus from 6,000 yuan to 7,500 yuan at the Zhengzhou plant, which is the world's largest iPhone production base.

We recently learned that Samsung and LG have also started mass producing the display for the iPhone 16 lineup. Apple reportedly ordered 80 million displays from Samsung and 43 million from LG.
