Google's newly announced Pixel 9 Pro And Pixel 9 Pro Fold appears to have gotten off to a strong start, suggesting Google has at least two winners on its hands.
Google announced the AI-charged Pixel 9 series yesterday. In addition to the standard Pixel 9 Pro model, there is now also a larger Pro XL model in the range and the OG Fold has been replaced by the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL are scheduled to hit stores on August 22, while the Pixel 9 Pro And Pixel 9 Pro Fold will hit shelves on September 4. Pre-orders are now open and the first demand for the standard 6.3-inch Pixel 9 Pro and the new leaflet seems strong.
9to5Google reported that the delivery dates for the Pixel 9 Pro have already started to experience delays, suggesting that not all orders will arrive on time. Some consumers who pre-ordered the device are facing a delay of up to two weeks. The Hazel variant seems to be particularly affected, with delivery times delayed until September 17. Most models will see a comparatively smaller delay of around a week.
The Pixels 9 And Pixel 9 Prodo not seem to be so popular, at least among the first buyers, and are expected to be delivered by August 23 at the latest.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also seems to be in high demand, with the Porcelain model showing as sold out. However, it could be an availability issue, as the Porcelain variant of the original Pixel Fold was also hard to get hold of when the phone was announced.
Delivery delays are often used to determine the popularity of new models, but this is not a reliable method as estimated delivery times are affected by many factors, including supply chain and logistics issues.
In any case, the delayed delivery dates are sure to cause frustration for those who can't wait to get their hands on Google's latest phones.
