A driver hit a deer while driving his 2016 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack. He took it to the dealership and left it there, hoping to have it fixed soon. However, he waited much longer than expected and the car was far from perfect. The dealership charged him for parts that they reportedly did not replace.
Five hundred dollars for a part that was never installed. That's how much Randy Shear, the owner of the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, paid to have his car repaired.
He had waited quite some time to get a call from the dealership to pick up his car. But they didn't return his calls and when they finally did fix it, it was anything but workmanlike.
Randy Shear was driving home from a movie at about 11 p.m. when a deer jumped in front of his car. He tried to avoid the animal, but was unsuccessful. The deer ran away unharmed, but the car was not. The impact with the deer broke the front bumper, partially ripped off and scratched the front splitter.
The fog light on the right side has done the team a disservice. It is completely gone. The headlight bezel on the right side has also come off. The repair will cost about $2,500.
Randy's Scat Pack has 133,846 miles (it goes up to 134,000 by the end of the video) on the odometer. It rides on Vox wheels with Brembo brakes, has a shaker hood, and a very loud exhaust. The interior is leather, Alcantara, and contrasting red stitching, plus red painted carbon fiber. He paid just $15,000 for it when he bought it in July.

So, he paid that much money for a car with a HEMI V8 engine, which produces 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. Sounds like a bargain, doesn't it?
He finally fixed it and put it back on his lawn, right next to his other cars. At first he was happy with the repair. But then he started to discover problems.
The dealership put the new fog light on the other end of the bumper and put an old one in place of the one that had moved out of place. A fog light costs $140. The car owner would have gladly paid for a new one.
He didn't even get a new splitter. The one installed on the car is the old splitter, hit and scratched by the deer. But he paid over $500 for the old one. When he looks closer, he sees that the splitter is not even attached to the bumper properly.
He emailed the dealership, which refused to paint his Corvette. He was planning to shoot a couple of videos with the completed car, advertise it on YouTube, and sell it.
However, he received no response, so he called Paul, the dealership manager. Paul told him that it was on his list but not at the top. He hoped that Paul would apologize and refund him. Instead, the Dodge owner was asked to take the car back to have it properly repaired.
He hasn't decided yet, though. In the meantime, he's already been offered $20,000 for the car by someone who saw it online. He paid $15,000 to buy it and $2,500 to fix it. So, he'd be making $2,500 if it weren't for the damage to the front end he bought it with.
