Another week has passed and Forza Motorsport's concurrent player count has only dropped. Last week it had around 770 players, now it has just passed the 560 mark. On the other hand, its immensely more successful sibling, Forza Horizon 5, is thriving more than ever, with almost 16,500 concurrent users. And now, with the new “Hide and Seek” mode, it is very likely that the player count will approach the 20k threshold, if not exceed it.
So what's this hide-and-seek thing? Well, first we need to deal with the '69 Camaro situation, and then we can get back to playing childhood games.
The Luka 3 Motorsport-inspired custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is coming to Forza Motorsport on September 9, and Forza Horizon 5 on September 10. Apparently, you don’t have to do anything to get it other than claim it from the Gift tab in the in-game Message Center.
Plus, if the Jordan Luka 3 Racing Suit tickles your fancy, you can grab it after successfully completing the five Jordan Luka 3 Motorsport Series events. It’s a coordinated kit, so you’ll not only be riding fast, but also in style.
While we don't know the specifics of this beauty, the standard '69 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe in the Horizon universe comes with a 6.5-liter NA big-block V8 engine that generates 375 hp and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm) of torque.
The new Hide & Seek mode will have two 4-minute phases and will split six players into one Hider and five Seekers. Team H must reach a specific location in a certain amount of time without getting caught by the Seekers. The Hider can choose from four cars: the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, and the 2018 Mercedes X Class.
Seekers can choose from six vehicles: the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG 2015 Audi RS6, 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR and 2021 Ford Bronco. Each model is available in its stock version, meaning without any liveries, tunes or builds.
The Hider can blend into normal traffic, much like in Assassin's Creed, and blend into the environment. The S-team must find and stay close to the Hider to fill their Detection Meter. Once it's full, they win the round. There will be XP bonuses and achievements to be won in Hide & Seek when the new mode launches on September 10, with achievements to follow in October.
In the meantime, don't forget to rack up points during the High-Performance Dailies Festival Playlist and get your hands on the 2023 Toyota Camry TRD with the awesome V6 engine, the 2023 Ford Fiesta ST, and the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat that packs the amazing 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces up to 710 horsepower and 470 lb-ft or 637 Nm of torque. You can only get the Camry until August 29, the Ford until September 5, and the Hellcat on loan Off-road until September 12th.
