As more and more people from all walks of life consider abandoning their traditional lifestyle and taking an indefinite road trip in search of more freedom and adventure, the popularity of mobile homes that will follow you wherever the road takes you has skyrocketed. RVs are one of the most popular choices when it comes to micro-homes on wheels.

The high demand for custom camper conversions has led to the emergence of a number of professional van conversion companies around the world. One of the latest we’ve come across is Eyesopen Vanlife Workshop, a company based in Wiltshire, England that specializes in creating beautiful, handcrafted campers for off-the-grid adventures. The company has been active in the camper world since 2020, when Daryl, a talented furniture maker from Salisbury, decided to diversify his business and started building bespoke van conversions with unique features and exquisite looks.

The British team's latest project is Camille, a four-berth campervan built in collaboration with the folks at Vanny Campers, who are currently offering it as the first prize in a giveaway where you can win a campervan every month.

Based on a 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with a long wheelbase and 94,000 miles on the odometer, Camille is built as a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Meticulously designed to seamlessly blend comfort, luxury, and functionality, this camper will make any vanlife an unforgettable experience.

While the exterior is rather modest, with the only distinguishing feature being the VannyCampers mountain-inspired decal on the back of the van, the interior is elegant, welcoming and stands out for its efficient layout and high-quality amenities. This configuration can safely carry three people and has room to sleep up to four in a spacious double bed downstairs and a comfortable pop-up mattress upstairs. A unique staircase integrated into the kitchen leads to the pop-top paradise.

As soon as you open the side door, you’ll be surprised by how spacious the interior of this van is, and that definitely has something to do with the clever open floor plan, large windows, and light color palette. Many vanlifers look for an open-cab configuration when buying or building a camper conversion, whether for safety, a more open feel, or extra seating. With Camille’s lack of a partition wall in the front and a swiveling double passenger seat, you can tick all of those off your list. Additionally, Daryl from Eyesopen Vanlife Workshop has fitted two large storage compartments in the overcab area.

The living area is the first area behind the cab, followed by a tidy galley-style kitchen and a large shower/toilet at the rear of the van. The lounge has a comfortable sofa that you really want to sit back and relax on, and is a great space to spend time with friends or family. A removable and adjustable table transforms this space into a dining area, and a remote-controlled projector screen turns it into a home cinema.

And that's not all about the multi-functionality. The spacious sofa has built-in storage and doubles as a comfortable sleeping space for two adults with plush 5-inch pillows.

Camille’s kitchen is sleek and stylish, with custom white cabinetry, oak countertops, and gold brass hardware. It features plenty of countertops, plenty of cupboard space for kitchen utensils, and everything you need for great cooking on the go. LED strips under the cabinets and intricate oak detailing on the walls add warmth and calm to the design. In terms of appliances, this kitchen features a modern black sink with hot water from a Truma Combi boiler located in the rear garage, a two-burner hob, and a 58-liter compressor refrigerator.

The highlight of this camper is the ingenious staircase that blends seamlessly into the kitchen design and doubles as a storage solution for the cooking area. At the bottom of the staircase, the manufacturer has also included a handy shoe cabinet. It leads to the pop-up roof, which not only offers comfortable sleeping space for two, but also panoramic views of the surroundings, so it can easily become a favorite spot for any traveler. It also has 200 watts of lightweight solar panels mounted on top, which power the 12V battery system.

Camille also has a beautiful bathroom at the back with a hot shower, a portable Thetford chemical toilet and a compact and elegant sink. It has beautiful light grey hexagon pattern wall panels and gold brass hardware that gives it a modern look. A small skylight ensures good ventilation in this small space.

In the rear of the van, accessible from the outside, you will find a well-organized garage space that houses the Truma Combi boiler and the Renogy electrical system. The latter includes a 2000 W inverter charger, a 170 Ah lithium battery and a Renogy DC to DC and MPPT solar regulator. We do not know the capacity of the fresh water and waste water tanks, but they are both suspended.

Since Camille is a custom build, we don’t have any pricing details, but the camper is currently online at VannyCampers and, until one lucky winner drives it home, you can watch a short video tour below.
