Scoops have revealed that it will be a heavily updated variant of the current one, just like the latest European 1 Series hatchback that celebrated its premiere earlier this summer. The changes include practically everything new and it will also benefit from a new grille with multi-directional bars. If it sounds familiar, that's because the ones on the 1er and X1 inspired them.
The front bumper of the regular (non-M) 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has triangular air intakes on the sides. Our spy photographers also captured the M235 Gran Coupe, and unsurprisingly, it features more aggressive styling and the usual technical upgrades that include a sportier chassis setup for faster cornering, beefed-up brakes, and a more aggressive engine under the hood.
BMW's upcoming M235 Gran Coupé will likely have 312 horsepower (316 ps/232 kW) in the US and 296 horsepower (300 ps/221 kW) in Europe. How do we know? Because it's fundamentally the same car as the M135 hot hatch version of the latest 1 Series, and just like its sibling, it will benefit from xDrive all-wheel drive. The 2 Series Gran Coupe remains a front-wheel drive car that's completely unrelated to the 2 Series Coupe, which is a rear-wheel drive machine with different underpinnings.

Now, while some of the camouflage has been left in the shop during the latest testing sessions, the next-gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe still remains covered in psychedelic vinyl stickers. However, the fake leather has started to come off in unofficial renders, like the ones shared in the gallery above, which came via Kolesa.
Mind you, even though these are nothing more than unofficial digital illustrations, they do portray the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe quite realistically. The pixel manipulator is well known for creating realistic renders of upcoming products, and this model is no exception. So, the Munich-based automaker’s Mercedes CLA rival will look very similar to this one when it finally comes out.
But when should we expect to see it without the camouflage on its body, sitting under the spotlight? The truth is, we don’t know yet. However, reports suggest that the all-new BMW 2er GC could be due later this year or perhaps early 2025. That means it’s probably a few months away, so there’s plenty of time to learn more before the big reveal. So, do you like the rendered car?
