It's (almost) “Glowtime”, folks, and we all know what that means. Okay, we technically have no idea what Apple's just-revealed slogan for its big September 9 event is all about, but it's no secret what devices will be on the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California and online on the tech giant's official website and YouTube channel.
The highly anticipated announcement of this year's iPhone 16 series begins on Monday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m. PT. If you're not so familiar with your time zones, allow us to convert them for some of the most populated places on Earth:
- 1 p.m. in New York City;
- 6pm in London;
- 7 p.m. in Paris;
- 1 a.m. (September 10) in Beijing;
- 2 a.m. (September 10) in Tokyo;
- 10:30 p.m. in New Delhi;
- 3am (September 10) in Sydney.
In addition to the iPhone1616 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, Apple is extremely will likely unveil two new smartwatches at the same event, with a third also a distinct possibility but not yet a guarantee. We're talking, of course, about the Apple Watch Series 10 (or Apple Watch X) and Apple Watch Ultra 3 on the one hand, and a budget Apple Watch SE 3 that may or may not come out this fall on the other.
When will the iPhone 16 family be released?
While the overall timing of this party on September 9 is hardly surprising, it is largely in line with the expectations of everyone who iPhone16 Since the program will be announced in the first half of next month, it is definitely highly unusual to hold a dedicated Apple launch event on a Monday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays have almost always been the company's preferred dates for such events, which is why all recent predictions and (fake) leaks have pointed to either a September 3 or 10 event.
That might actually be one reason why Apple chose an unexpected date this time around, while also wanting to keep things fresh and unpredictable and weed out any potential “moles” within the company that might have leaked this information prematurely. It remains to be seen if the company will break with tradition in any way when it comes to the release schedule of its “next big things.”
Since the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max were all available for pre-order on Friday, September 15, 2023, ahead of the general release on September 22, we can assume that the iPhone16The 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will welcome their first users with open arms on September 12 or 13 this year, before hitting stores on September 19 or 20.
