Another great Pei day, because something has come out of nothing

We know that Nothing CEO Carl Pei loves to update everyone on new phones, new accessories, new features, etc. And he's surely thrilled about Nothing's success, which comes hot on the heels of the success he had with co-founder Pete Lau in founding OnePlus in 2013. Pei turns 35 next month and recently posted a tweet revealing data from tech market analytics firm Canalys that found Nothing to be the fastest-growing smartphone and wireless earbud brand in the world.

When Pei left OnePlus in October 2020, the brand was already well established, even in the US, making it a standout among the brands under the BBK Electronics umbrella. The Chinese BBK's smartphone brands are OPPO, VIVO, OnePlus, iqoo and Realme. OnePlus is actually a subsidiary of Oppo.

Back to the tweet Pei posted on “X,” he writes that he is pleased to share that Nothing is the fastest-growing smartphone and wireless earbud brand in the world. In the second quarter of this year, Nothing's smartphones achieved a staggering 693% year-on-year increase worldwide. In the first half of 2024, Nothing's smartphone business saw a 246% year-on-year increase in revenue.

Data shows that Nothing was the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the UK, Japan, Saudi Arabia and India in the first half of 2024. Nothing currently offers three smartphone models on its website: the Nothing (2), the mid-range Nothing (2a) and the Nothing (2a) Plus.

In wireless earbuds, Nothing led the way globally in the second quarter with an incredible 769% growth rate. During the quarter, Nothing wireless earbuds were the fastest growing brand in the US, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy. In the first half of this year, Nothing saw a 331% year-over-year increase in wireless earbuds worldwide, making it the category leader.
