Acura RDX Enters 2025 Model Year With $350 Higher Starting Price

Still available to configure on Acura’s website, the 2024 RDX model starts at $44,350 before shipping. Updated inside and out for 2025 in early August 2024, the premium-oriented crossover will hit dealerships nationwide with an MSRP of $44,700 plus $1,350 shipping, for a total of $46,050.

There are five trims available, starting with the self-explanatory RDX. All come with Super Handling all-wheel drive, a front-wheel drive system. The Super Handling part refers to the torque vectoring feature. In layman's terms, SH-AWD is designed to create a new yaw moment at the rear, helping the vehicle to steer better. It also actively directs available engine torque to the rear wheel with the most traction in wet or slippery conditions.

The RDX with Technology Package starts at $47,300, while $50,300 gets you the RDX A-Spec. Further up the spectrum, the RDX with Advance Package and RDX A-Spec with Advance Package start at $52,450 and $54,450 before a $1,350 delivery charge. That’s a lot of money for a more upscale version of the Honda CR-V, with Honda asking $30,100 with front-wheel drive or $31,600 with all-wheel drive for the 1.5-liter turbo.

Acura, meanwhile, switches to a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 272 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. Peak torque is rated at 280 pound-feet (380 Nm), with that torque delivered from 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. Another big difference between them is the transmission: Continuously variable transmission for the CR-V and 10-speed automatic for the better-equipped RDX model.

Now available at dealerships nationwide, the 2025 Acura RDX builds on the sales success of its predecessors, which recorded nearly 800,000 sales from 2006 to 2024. In terms of exterior styling, 2025 saw the front grille transition to a frameless design that Acura calls the Diamond Pentagon.

Also worth mentioning is a more attractive mesh grille, along with gloss black trim pieces. All versions receive sportier wheel designs for 2025. Customers interested in the RDX with the Advance Package are also presented with body-colored lower exterior trim. This version comes with multi-spoke wheels called Berlina Black Machine, as opposed to Berlina Black for the base RDX and the slightly cooler RDX with the Technology Package.

The sporty theme is further enhanced by the RDX A-Spec and RDX A-Spec with Advance Package. Both upgrade from 19-inch to 20-inch wheels. The RDX A-Spec features Shark Gray wheels versus the Black of the RDX A-Spec with Advance Package. Also new for 2025, the RDX receives three new paint colors in the form of Canyon River Blue Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, and Solar Silver Metallic.

Developed and engineered in America alongside the midsize MDX in East Liberty, Ohio, the RDX boasts an updated cabin with a redesigned center console for more storage. Larger cupholders are also expected, along with easier access to the wireless charger.

The 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system now features a widescreen mode for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are, of course, wireless. The RDX with Advance Package and the top-of-the-line RDX A-Spec with Advance Package sweeten the deal even further with standard full-leather upholstery, illuminated front and rear speaker cones, and additional ambient lighting on the redesigned center console.
