Believe it or not, Hyundai claims that Australia is the only market in the world that offers the full range of Hyundai N models. So it’s no surprise that they first launched the refreshed 2025 Hyundai i30 N, a cheaper and more powerful rival to the Volkswagen Golf GTI that sadly won’t be coming to the US. However, now that the excitement over the hot hatch has died down, the company is also focusing on future things.
More specifically, along the N Line. As such, the brand is bringing the 2025 Hyundai i30 to Australia with its latest facelift, “premium trim,” and standard N Line: the 2025 Hyundai i30 is built in Europe (Czech Republic) and offered in the Land Down Under in two trim levels: N Line and N Line Premium, starting at AUD 36,000 (MLP). That’s less than $24,000 at current exchange rates, making the compact sedan as affordable as a 2024 Kona crossover or cheaper than an Elantra Hybrid should it make its way to America.
Sadly, it won’t make it there, as hatchbacks aren’t exactly the most popular body style in the region. In Australia, on the other hand, the 2025 Hyundai i30 arrives confidently with a new 1.5-litre T-GDi mild-hybrid powertrain, an improved suite of standard SmartSense safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 with Junction Turning, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Multi-Collision Braking and Rear Occupant Alert, as well as cabin upgrades. The latter includes a standard 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch centre display with DAB+ digital radio.
On the outside, the refreshed 2025 Hyundai i30 gets a redesigned grille, revised air intakes, MFR LED headlights, new side skirts and rear bumper, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. The 2025 Hyundai i30 N Line Premium upgrades to a 10.25-inch infotainment unit with BlueLink connected services, Over the Air (OTA) wireless update capability, and additional safety features such as Navigation-based Intelligent Cruise Control (NSCC), Highway Driving Assist 1, and Automatic Collision Notification and Emergency Call functions.
“With its new mild hybrid powertrain, refreshed styling and generously equipped N Line and N Line Premium versions, the sporty yet affordable 2025 i30 is sure to delight our small car customers,” said Ted Lee, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company Australia. The new SmartStream 1.5 T-GDi engine delivers 157PS and 253Nm or 187lb ft of torque to the wheels via a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The N Line is priced from AUD 36k and the N Line Premium from AUD 41k or $27k. Not bad, right?
