Ford Australia has revealed updates and pricing details for the 2025MY seventh-generation Ford Mustang S650 pony and muscle car for the local market, but unfortunately the special edition Mustang Dark Horse will no longer be available.

The legendary Mustang is a global icon, and fortunately, the seventh-generation S650 is available in many markets around the world, including Australia. The local spec is entering another model year, and the company has revealed spec details and pricing options for the series. However, it’s not all good news: the Mustang Dark Horse Special Edition, limited to 1,000 units, has found owners for every example and will not be available in 2025MY trim.

Ford Australia said fans can choose between the EcoBoost Fastback and Mustang GT Fastback and GT Convertible variants, as there is a strong offering at dealerships nationwide – the updated 2025 Mustang will arrive with a new exterior styling package and Prestige paint from early next year, as production is not due to begin until late 2024.

The Australia-spec 2025 Ford Mustang GT Fastback and Convertible receive an optional Bronze Appearance Pack in place of the Black Appearance Pack featuring Sinister Bronze Pony grille badging, Sinister Bronze GT logo on the rear, Sinister Bronze 5.0 fender badges, plus 19 x 9-inch front and 19 x 9.5-inch rear staggered Sinister Bronze wheels.

New for 2025MY are some changes to the colour palette: Atlas Blue, Dark Matter Grey, Rapid Red and Yellow Splash will be retired and customers will be able to choose in return Carbonised Grey, Grabber Blue, Vapour Blue, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver, the free Race Red or Oxford White and the new optional Molten Magenta, which is a Prestige paint. According to the Manufacturer's Suggested List Prices (MLP), the 2025 Ford Mustang for Australia starts at AUD 66,990 for the EcoBoost Fastback.

That’s just over $45k at current exchange rates, significantly more than the $32k MSRP in the US. Upgrading to the 5.0-liter manual GT Fastback will raise the MLP to AUD 78,990 while the automatic model is AUD 81,990 (about $53k and $55k, respectively). Last but not least, the 2025 Ford Mustang GT Convertible (automatic only) starts at AUD 87,667, which is no less than $59k.

The options list includes the EcoBoost Appearance Package for AUD 1,500, the GT Appearance Package or the new Bronze Appearance Package for AUD 1,950 each, MagneRide suspension or Recaro sports seats for AUD 3,835, and Prestige paint, which costs AUD 910. Interestingly, there's nothing about the nameplate's 60th anniversary, though. Meanwhile, back home in America, the Blue Oval carmaker has announced another first: the Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package is also offered in the iconic Britanny Blue paint job.
